The calendar may say it’s winter, but we believe it’s never too early to start enjoying a tropical cocktail. In fact, we consider it research for when summer finally rolls around. This Guavaberry Colada is sure to make you feel like you’re somewhere on a beach, in the middle of summer.

Guavaberry Liqueur is king in St. Martin. It’s is a national treasure and you can find it in just about any cocktail at most restaurants. The sweet tasting rum is made out of Guavaberry, a small berry that only grows in a few Caribbean islands. Although this liqueur is native to the island, if you’re lucky you can find Guavaberry Liqueur in the United States here. This Colada is as classic to St. Martin as the Piña Colada is to Puerto Rico. With just three ingredients and two simple steps, you’ll be sipping yourself back to the Caribbean.

Ingredients:
  • 2 oz. of Guavaberry Liqueur
  • 1 oz. of Coconut Cream
  • 3 oz. of Pineapple Juice
  • Ice

Note: This makes one serving of the colada. Increase the ounces of each ingredient to make a bigger batch.

Directions
  1. Put all the ingredients in a blender and then blend until smooth
  2. Top the drink off with nutmeg, coconut, pineapple, or maraschino cherries.
